Meet your Hosts:

Alan and Alison have lived in Seward on Lowell Point for seven years. They love the area and have always loved sharing it with others. They have a lot of knowledge of the natural history and love teaching it. Alan and Alison bought their house in March 2005 and have been working hard on turning it into a comfortable place for visitors to stay. They hope you have a wonderful experience and stay at the Alaska Paddle Inn.

Alan Heavirland is from Cedar, Minnesota but has lived in Alaska for eight years. He moved to Alaska to become a Sea Kayaker. He has guided for many years and is also a certified instructor for the American Canoe Association (ACA). Alan’s other interests include: sailing, fishing, skiing, rafting, reading, and doing custom woodworking. Alan is a carpenter by trade and he loves building skin boats.

Alison Heavirland is originally from Prescott, Arizona. She moved to Alaska in 1999 for a Sea Kayaking Internship. Since then she has guided in Seward for three summers and is now a Licensed Massage Therapist. Her specialty is Myofascial Release, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Thai Yoga Massage, Deep Tissue, and some Spa treatments. In her spare time you can catch her on the water kayaking, rafting, sailing, fishing, or hiking, backpacking, and telemark skiing.
